Mumbai Wood Exhibition 2024, held from September 27 to 29, FFSC's #SkillPavilion provided tailored solutions for businesses in the Furniture, Interiors, and Allied sectors grappling with skilled talent shortages. A key attraction was the Skill Gap Test, a data-driven tool aimed at addressing workforce challenges and driving effective skilling initiatives. A major milestone was the signing of an MoU with IWMMTA, marking a strategic partnership to advance skill development in these industries. An insightful session by FFSC CEO Rahul Mehta, highlighting lessons from the WorldSkills Competition Lyon 2024, captivated attendees, showcasing the global event's potential to elevate industry skills.
FFSC had the privilege of participating in the National PM Vishwakarma 1-Year Anniversary celebration in Wardha, Maharashtra. The inspiring exhibition highlighted the incredible success stories of artisans whose lives have been transformed through skill development under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
During the event, the Honorable Prime Minister released certificates and loans to beneficiaries of the scheme, which launched on September 17, 2023, to support traditional artisans and craftspeople through financial assistance and skill enhancement.
We were honored to showcase our Carpenter and Boatmaker trades at the exhibition and to welcome the Honorable Prime Minister to our stall, where he interacted with our skilled craftsmen, appreciating their craftsmanship.

Team FFSC took the cleanliness drive beyond the workplace to make a meaningful impact. Together, we are raising awareness on the significance of cleanliness and sustainability, while actively contributing to a cleaner, greener environment. Students from the Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad also joined the effort, participating in the drive around the COE, demonstrating their commitment to this cause.

On 20th September, 2024, 3rd batch of bright minds from across Telangana & Andhra Pradesh embarked on the journey of Multipurpose Assistant - Furniture Production & Installation at FFSC Centre of Excellence, Hyderabad. The students got orientation about the FFSC Multipurpose Draughtsperson (Design and Build).
FFSC signed MoU with Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM) on 30th August wherein FFSC would conduct Training of Trainers (TOT) programs and following the assessment, conduct of periodic skill gap analysis, Support during job fairs, apprenticeship fairs and more.
Team FFSC visited Jeevika centre located in Begusari. A proposal for setting up a training centre by FFSC in Begusari has been submitted. The project is been envisioned by the hon minister of Textile of India Shri Giriraj Singh who invited sector skill council representative for a meeting to brief regarding the proposed project.

Minister of State (I/C) for Skill Development &Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary launched the 'One Nation One Industry - Grow with #PowerOfSkills' campaign to expand FFSC's skill development efforts, according to a press release. To set up Regional Skill Chapters across the country, he also launched the FFSC Centre of Excellence (COE) in Hyderabad. This COE, created through a partnership with the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) and industry partners, is a big step forward for skill development in the sector.

Over the past nine years, FFSC has been dedicated to building a robust skilling ecosystem for the Furniture and Allied Industry. With the support of over 1500 #SkillAmbassadors, including industry partners, academia, associations, and engagement partners, we have made significant strides in this mission.
Aligned with our goal of formalizing our sector and our central theme, 'Grow with #PowerOfCollaboration,' we have planned a full-day event to celebrate our achievements, brainstorm and explore future opportunities, launch new initiatives, and honor our Skill Ambassadors, Skill Stars, Skilling Partners, Skill-Conscious Employers, Skill Enablers, and Skill Experts.
This event will bring together approximately 180 to 200 industry partners from various sub-sectors, including Furniture, Interiors, Panel, Timber, Fittings, and Laminates. We are also honored to have dignitaries from MSDE, NSDC, and related ministries participating in the event.
FFSC CEO was invited to the Chintan Shivir organized by Rubber Borad. Rubber Board organized a Chintan Shivir on 13th and 14th May, 2024 at Rubber Research Institute of India, Kottayam with the objectives of identifying Scope and challenges of expanding rubber cultivation in India, Sustainability of natural rubber cultivation in India, Challenges in primary processing of field latex and Sale of Rubber Sheets/ preserved latex/Cenex, Improving quality of the RSS grade sheets whereby fetching better price for the NR, Scope and challenges in realizing the better price for Senile Plantation etc.
The Consultative Session with the Chairman of all the Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) on 19th May 2024 during India's biggest Skill Competition- IndiaSkills Competition 2024 was attended by Mr. Saurabh Jain Treasurer at FFSC.

30th Governing Council Meeting was held on March 22nd,2024 at GREENPLY INDUSTRIES LIMITED, Mumbai. The Meeting witnessed active participation and invaluable insights from the Governing Council members and FRSC Flag Bearers, fostering collaboration and innovation.
The governing council members were briefed on the accomplishments of FY23-24, followed by a comprehensive discussion on diverse agenda including strategies for upcoming FY24-25, initiatives to enhance skill development in FRSC regions and towards its expansion, notable areas of impact, and the pivotal role played by the diverse Interiors, Furniture, and Allied Industries.

The recently concluded IndiaWood 2024 saw the #FFSCSkillPavilion emerged as a hub of innovation, knowledge, and skill development in the woodworking industry. Spread across five days, the event featured a range of knowledge sessions aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of industry professionals and also more than 800 Skill Ambassadors MoU’s were signed during the exhibition.
Day 1 set the tone for the event with a vibrant start, showcasing the latest in skilled workforce solutions and industry innovations. Visitors were invited to explore the #SkillPavilion located at the Hall No#5, first floor conference area. The stage was set for an exciting lineup of events to follow.
Day 2 witnessed a series of insightful knowledge sessions by FFSC in Hall 5, first floor conference area. Topics ranged from industry projects and schemes to technical sessions on wood finishing, coatings, and tool selection and maintenance. Participants actively engaged in these sessions, completing their Skill Gap study to further their skilling solutions.
Day 3 continued the momentum with more workshops and knowledge sessions, drawing over 60+ participants, predominantly from woodworking association members. A special highlight was the MoU signing and exchange with the Andhra Pradesh Modular Furniture Manufacturers Association, paving the way for FFSC's activities in the state.
Day 4 the final day, maintained the event's impact with engaging sessions on industry orientation, apprenticeship models, and the importance of skill gap studies. The day also saw the felicitation of M/S Pioneer Modular Solutions with an FFSC Membership certificate, recognizing their contribution to the industry.
Overall, IndiaWood 2024 at the #FFSCSkillPavilion was a testament to the industry's commitment to innovation and skill development. It provided a platform for industry professionals to learn, collaborate, and explore new opportunities, setting a strong foundation for the future of the woodworking industry in India.
FFSC took part in the 4th Edition for Home & Home+ Conclave took place on 15th February, 2024 at Pune where industry leaders, visionaries, and change-makers united to redefine the future of organised growth in the furniture and home decor industry.
Home & Home+ Conclave aims to become the platform for all the industry veterans and visionaries to come together and streamline the chaotic and cluttered home & interiors industry and discuss avenues for growth. Through discussions, networking and connections, the 4th edition aspires to disseminate valuable insights under the stewardship of industry leaders whose wisdom is crucial to enrich and unify the home & interiors segment.
L.I.F.E (Ladies in Furniture Ecosystem), powered by Häfele, held its 3rd event in Bangalore on February 21st and 22nd, 2024. Day one, hosted by Interazzo.com - our OEM partner, featured engaging sessions with esteemed guest speakers. Day 1 Leadership Training Program for FRSC Jaipur and FRSC Delhi NCR was held at Panchshila club on 22nd December 2023.
Leadership Training Program was designed to boost organizational efficiency and productivity in the dynamic furniture industry. Day 1 session began with a series of activities for participants, followed by an interaction on Business Excellence from Deepak Gupta, who afterward addressed the importance of Operational Excellence in the furniture manufacturing business. Later on the information about the Digital Transformation of the Manufacturing Industry by Mr. Rajat Jain.
Day 2 of the Leadership Training Program brought more practical experience. The session began with the first visit to Magppie Wellness Kitchen where participants got an understanding of the process of lean manufacturing followed by them and later they got a tour of the shop floor experience. The participants had a detailed conversation with Mr. Deepak Gupta.
The afternoon session brought an exciting visit to Dorset Industries Private Limited. A state-of-the-art facility showcasing cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices. The participants were given a tour of production lines, witnessing the craftsmanship, and understanding the intricacies of the manufacturing process. Following this, the participants had a Q&A with Mr. Takshay Bansal.

On August 15, Honourable PM Narendra Modi announced the commencement of the Vishwakarma Yojana, which will initially invest between Rs 13,000 and Rs 15,000 crore on those with traditional talents over the course of the following month.
The PM Vishwakarma Scheme strives to incorporate artisans and craftspeople into the domestic and international value chains while demonstrating the quality, scope, and reach of their goods and services. These workers will become more economically empowered as a result, particularly those who come from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Communities, women, transgender people, and other underprivileged groups in society.
On August 5th, 2023, the CAPLE x FFSC Centre of Excellence in Vasai, Maharashtra, was formally inaugurated. The Centre of Excellence (COE) will be your one-stop shop for programmes in new skills, reskilling, upskilling, and multi-skilling, among other things.
On 29th July 2023, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan in Delhi. The event coincided with the 3rd anniversary of the National Education Policy 2020.
The Prime Minister released the first installment of funds under the PM SHRI Scheme. These schools were intended to nurture students in a way that they become engaged, productive, and contributing citizens for building an equitable, inclusive, and plural society, as envisaged by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The Prime Minister also released education and skill curriculum books translated into 12 Indian languages.
Guided by the vision of the Prime Minister, NEP 2020 was launched with a view to groom the youth and prepare them for leading the country in Amrit Kaal. It aimed to prepare them for meeting the challenges of the future while keeping them grounded in basic human values. During the three years of its implementation, the policy brought radical transformation in the realms of school, higher, and skill education.
The Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam included sixteen sessions, in which discussions were held on themes including Access to Quality Education and Governance, Equitable and Inclusive Education, Issues of Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups, National Institute Ranking Framework, Indian knowledge System, Internationalisation of Education, among others.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of FFSC was held on 15th July 2023 at the Hotel Radisson, Gurugram.
This year has been remarkable for FFSC, as the council has made significant progress in setting up a strong skilling ecosystem for the Interiors, Furniture, and allied industries in India. FFSC has seen an 85% increase in membership, a testament to the growing support for #SkillIndiaMission, and acceptance of the council’s initiatives.

Mr. Narsi Kularia has been a key inspirational figure in the furniture industry through his dedication and implementation of massive interior projects.
During his tenure as the Chairperson of FFSC, his organisation Narsi Group has participated in the major key initiatives of FFSC and has been a benchmark for the other industry players to follow in their footsteps.
The current Chairperson, Mr. Rajesh Mittal felicitated Mr. Kularia for his contribution towards FFSC and the skilling ecosystem.

The ‘Ozone Skills Academy’ has been set up by FFSC’s member Ozone Overseas in New Delhi. The academy would offer both training & testing facilities.

FFSC’s ‘Skill Pavilion’ showcased the transition process & what lies ahead in the future in terms of career opportunities in the furniture industry.
G20 Delegates and Students were given a detailed insight into the future of the furniture industry in India and opportunities.
FFSC’s Skill Pavilion was a key feature of the Delhiwood 2023 exhibition. From March 2-5, the pavilion provided solutions for a skilled workforce for woodworking and furniture-related industries.

FFSC signed MOU with NSTI Bengaluru for its 2nd FFSC Center of Excellence. The Center of Excellence would provide short-term courses in the furniture and fitting sector to offer 100% employment opportunities. Special Thanks to Mr. Satyan Thukral (FFSC Executive member) & Team Caple for extending their support for setting up the COE.
Key features of FFSC’s Centre of Excellence (COE) at NSTI Bengaluru:
Greenply Industries Ltd has organised Hindustan Ki Shaan Awards for industry carpenters and contractors. Mr Rajesh Mittal, CMD, Greenply expressed his joy about hosting this event. “This is an attempt of Greenply to recognize efforts of these carpenters and contractors in glorifying the beauty of Indian home & spaces”.
Attended by 140+ artists from across the country, the ceremony saw the facilitation of 4 zonal winners, and the pan-India national winner, picked from thousands of entries. A lively panel discussion, thrilling performances, networking sessions and a much-awaited facilitation ceremony, made the gala night, a memorable one.

The Skill Pavilion was launched in 2020 as a unified platform to connect industry, professionals, students and institutions. At the pavilion, FFSC team engaged with Industry Partners to guide them about approaches to skilling and how they can avail of benefits offered by the government through the Skill India program. They also counsel professionals about careers in woodworking, and the growth path they can achieve through appropriate training.
Our #SkillStars were in action at the Skill Academy section, implementing the test projects and showcasing the power of skills.

Key features of FFSC’s Centre of Excellence (COE) at NSTI Hyderabad:
Furniture and Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) is organizing an "Orientation Session", for the new industry members on Wednesday, 18th January 2023 from 11 am – 12 pm, via Microsoft Teams.
The orientation session is a part of the new structured onboarding by FFSC for the new member companies.
The purpose of the session was to make the members and their teams from various backgrounds i.e. Technical, HR, Marketing, etc. to be aware of FFSC & the Skilling Ecosystem. The session was also an introduction to the various teams at FFSC who shall be presenting their respective verticals.
This would help the new members make the most of the association with FFSC and also to carry forward the word in the right direction, in the right manner.
The Governing Council of FFSC is the elected body which decides the operational and governance-related aspects of FFSC. The 26 th Governing Council meeting was held on 22nd December 2022 at Narsi & Associates, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The key discussion held during the meeting:
The industry leaders drive the council on a set mission by being part of the General Body and the Governing Council. Mr. Venkataraman Gorti, Managing Director & Country Head, HOMAG India is a part of the Governing Council and also a member of the Board of Standards (BoS) sub-committee, which leads the development of National Occupational Standards (NOS).

FFSC Chairman Mr. Narsi Kularia recognized by Chief Minister of Maharashtra for his contribution towards the Skill India Mission. Narsi Group is committed & working towards making 'INDIA - The Skill Capital of the World' that what makes them a 'Skill Conscious Employer'.
FFSC has partnered with Greenply for ‘Hindustan Ki Shaan’ which would be recognizing special talent in carpentry or Contractor.
NCVET extended their congratulation to FFSC Chairman Mr. Narsi Kularia for the achievement of certifying 5k+ carpenters and his vision to certify more than 50K+ in the upcoming year.
These certified carpenters are a vital resource in the production of traditional crafts as well as modern, smart & versatile furniture as per the demand of various users.
The 25th Governing Council meeting of FFSC was held on 14th October 2022 via online mode.
The key points for discussion were regarding the announcement of the Steering Committee of FFSC. The revised sub-committee structure for FFSC was also announced, and nominations were received from the executive members.
A detailed Campaign for Mission 2025 was also presented to the members. The sub-committee meetings will now be aligned to take forward the action items for each key function.
At its 7th Annual General Meeting, held on September 16, 2022 in New Delhi, the Furniture & Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) elected a new governing council.
Mr. Narsi Kularia, Managing Director of Narsi Group, has been elected as Chairman, Mr. Rajesh Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director of Greenply Industries Ltd., as Co- Chairman, and Mr. Saurabh Jain, Managing Director of Decora Kitchen Interiors Pvt. Ltd., as Treasurer, along with 12 other industry leaders as Executive Members.
The Governing Council will have a tenure of two-years. FFSC is moving forward with Mission 2025 with the new team.
The culmination ceremony marked the completion of its year-long Furniture Skills Global Conclave
(FSGC), which was launched in September 2021 as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ campaign.
The objective of the conclave was to build awareness about skill-based opportunities in interiors, furniture and allied industries. Dedicated to youth and future skills, through FSGC, the aim was to create awareness about Skill-based opportunities in the Interiors, Furniture & Allied industries.
Under the FSGC banner, over 50+ events (Seminars, Webinars, Workshops, Industry Meets, Exhibitions, Skill Competitions, etc.) were organized, over 10000+ people participated, over 300+ new Industry Partners joined the mission, 5000+ opportunities were created, and have earmarked
23 FFSC Regional Skill Chapters. The larger goal of FSGC was to lay a strong foundation for Mission
2025, wherein FFSC has committed to skill, reskill and upskill 5,00,000 aspirants for various job opportunities.
