26th Governing Council meeting of FFSC, Narsi & Associates, Mumbai, Maharashtra
The Governing Council of FFSC is the elected body which decides the operational and
governance-related aspects of FFSC. The 26 th Governing Council meeting was held on 22nd
December 2022 at Narsi & Associates, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The key discussion held during the meeting:
- FFSC’s Regional Skill Chapters – Pilot Projects and ongoing programs
- ‘One Nation, One Industry’ Campaign – Scaling up activities across the country
- Skill Academies – guidelines for the industry to set up academies on a sustainable model
- Training Projects – Skill Conscious Employer Program and experience of the employers who have benefitted
The industry leaders drive the council on a set mission by being part of the General Body
and the Governing Council. Mr. Venkataraman Gorti, Managing Director & Country Head,
HOMAG India is a part of the Governing Council and also a member of the Board of
Standards (BoS) sub-committee, which leads the development of National Occupational
Standards (NOS).

FFSC Chairman Mr. Narsi Kularia recognized by Chief Minister of Maharashtra for his contribution towards the Skill India Mission.

FFSC has partnered with Greenply for ‘Hindustan Ki Shaan’ which would be recognizing special talent in carpentry or Contractor.
NCVET Appreciated FFSC Chairman for His Tremendous Work in The Skill Ecosystem
NCVET extended their congratulation to FFSC Chairman Mr. Narsi Kularia for the achievement of certifying 5k+ carpenters and his vision to certify more than 50K+ in the upcoming year.
These certified carpenters are a vital resource in the production of traditional crafts as well as modern, smart & versatile furniture as per the demand of various users.

25th Governing Council meeting of FFSC
The 25th Governing Council meeting of FFSC was held on 14th October 2022 via online mode.
The key points for discussion were regarding the announcement of the Steering Committee of FFSC. The revised sub-committee structure for FFSC was also announced, and nominations were received from the executive members.
A detailed Campaign for Mission 2025 was also presented to the members. The sub-committee meetings will now be aligned to take forward the action items for each key function.
Way Forward to Mission 2025 with New Governing Council in place
At its 7th Annual General Meeting, held on September 16, 2022 in New Delhi, the Furniture & Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) elected a new governing council.
Mr. Narsi Kularia, Managing Director of Narsi Group, has been elected as Chairman, Mr. Rajesh Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director of Greenply Industries Ltd., as Co- Chairman, and Mr. Saurabh Jain, Managing Director of Decora Kitchen Interiors Pvt. Ltd., as Treasurer, along with 12 other industry leaders as Executive Members.
The Governing Council will have a tenure of two-years. FFSC is moving forward with Mission 2025 with the new team.
Culmination Event of Furniture Skills Global Conclave
The culmination ceremony marked the completion of its year-long Furniture Skills Global Conclave
(FSGC), which was launched in September 2021 as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ campaign.
The objective of the conclave was to build awareness about skill-based opportunities in interiors, furniture and allied industries. Dedicated to youth and future skills, through FSGC, the aim was to create awareness about Skill-based opportunities in the Interiors, Furniture & Allied industries.
Under the FSGC banner, over 50+ events (Seminars, Webinars, Workshops, Industry Meets, Exhibitions, Skill Competitions, etc.) were organized, over 10000+ people participated, over 300+ new Industry Partners joined the mission, 5000+ opportunities were created, and have earmarked
23 FFSC Regional Skill Chapters. The larger goal of FSGC was to lay a strong foundation for Mission
2025, wherein FFSC has committed to skill, reskill and upskill 5,00,000 aspirants for various job opportunities.
