Way Forward to Mission 2025 with New Governing Council in place

At its 7th Annual General Meeting, held on September 16, 2022 in New Delhi, the Furniture & Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) elected a new governing council.
Mr. Narsi Kularia, Managing Director of Narsi Group, has been elected as Chairman, Mr. Rajesh Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director of Greenply Industries Ltd., as Co- Chairman, and Mr. Saurabh Jain, Managing Director of Decora Kitchen Interiors Pvt. Ltd., as Treasurer, along with 12 other industry leaders as Executive Members.
The Governing Council will have a tenure of two-years. FFSC is moving forward with Mission 2025 with the new team.

Culmination Event of Furniture Skills Global Conclave

The culmination ceremony marked the completion of its year-long Furniture Skills Global Conclave (FSGC), which was launched in September 2021 as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ campaign.
The objective of the conclave was to build awareness about skill-based opportunities in interiors, furniture and allied industries. Dedicated to youth and future skills, through FSGC, the aim was to create awareness about Skill-based opportunities in the Interiors, Furniture & Allied industries.
Under the FSGC banner, over 50+ events (Seminars, Webinars, Workshops, Industry Meets, Exhibitions, Skill Competitions, etc.) were organized, over 10000+ people participated, over 300+ new Industry Partners joined the mission, 5000+ opportunities were created, and have earmarked 23 FFSC Regional Skill Chapters. The larger goal of FSGC was to lay a strong foundation for Mission 2025, wherein FFSC has committed to skill, reskill and upskill 5,00,000 aspirants for various job opportunities.

Addition of New Stakeholders

We are glad to introduce our new General Body member, Mr. Jitendra Goyal, Director at Dormak Interio Pvt. Ltd.

While celebrating the culmination of the yearlong event 'Furniture Skills Global Conclave', FFSC also recognized the contributions of several industry organizations, stalwarts and professionals for their unwavering support and contribution towards the fulfilment of Mission 2025.

Some of the notable mentions were Pidilite Industries for their contribution in setting up Skill Academy, NürnbergMesse India for Industry Engagement, Hyfurn for Learner Engagement.

New initiatives launched during the 6th Annual General Meeting of FFSC

The 6th Annual General Meeting of FFSC was held on 24th September 2021 via video conferencing with the core focus on Mission 2025.
The role of FFSC Regional Skill Chapters, FFSC Skill Pavilion, FFSC Skill Academies/COEs in achieving the goal to Skill – ReSkill – UpSkill 5,00,000 aspirants by 2025-26 was detailed.

I. FFSC Regional Skill Chapters

The main purpose of the FFSC Regional Skill Chapters is to conduct the Skill Gap analysis at the regional level and provide the solutions locally.

FFSC will focus on the formation of Skilling Academies, Certification of Existing workforce and corpus creation through the regional chapters. FFSC shared10 proposed locations of the FRSC with the members and made an appeal to the members to take up responsibility for setting up the FRSC in various regions and support the initiative.

II. FFSC Skill Pavilion – Concept Note

The concept of the Skill Pavilion was shared with the information that talks are underway with DGT to setup the Skill Pavilion in Gurgaon with their support.

FFSC Skill Pavilion will act as a model training centre and be utilized for multiple activities like Training of Trainer, WorldSkills/IndiaSkills candidates, customized training for Industry, and support the Skill Academies.

III. FFSC Skill Academy and COEs Model

FFSC skill academies are based on the hub and spoke level. Concept note of the Beginner level and Apprenticeship level academies at the spoke level and the Centre of Excellence (COEs) at the hub level were shared.
