January 2024

Training successfully completed under Meri Skill Meri Pehchaan in Patna

FFSC team successfully conducted a training session at Karpuri Thakur Hall, Patna, Bihar, under the Meri Skill Meri Pehchaan program.

This training was supported by the Greenply foundation, one of our valued partners. The training provided skill orientation to the existing skilled workers from the woodworking industry. The participants were enthusiastic and eager to learn from the Trainer.

We thank the Greenply team for their support and cooperation in this initiative. We hope to continue this collaboration and empower more candidates with the skills and knowledge.


Training of the Master Trainers for PM Vishwakarma in Hyderabad

FFSC organized the Training of the Master Trainers (ToMT) under PM Vishwakarma which was held from 18th to 22nd January 2024 at NAC Hyderabad. The five-day training programme taught candidates about the transition of carpentry in India, the differences between traditional hand tools and power tools for various carpentry operations, multiple types of power tools and their usage and safety, and much more.


PMKVY 4.0 Training at Vista Retail Pvt. Ltd.

FFSC has initiated the 'Skill Conscious Employer Program' among its industry partners with the support of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 (PMKVY 4.0).

The program aims for skill certification of the existing workforce through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

The program helps the existing woodworkers by upskilling them and providing them better understanding about the furniture & its allied industry.

Assessment in UP under ODOP (One District One Product) UP and VSSY (Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana

A total of 1900+ candidates were assessed in UP under the ODOP (One District One Product) which aims to encourage such indigenous and specialized products and crafts in UP that are found nowhere else and VSSY (Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana) focus on vocational training and skill development, this program plays a crucial role in enhancing employability and improving the socio-economic conditions of workers.

A total of 137 Skill verification and 67 basic training assessment done by Team FFSC for PM Vishwakarma in various states such as Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka , Gujarat, and Assam.

27th Batch of Training of Assessors (ToA) for in Kolkata

27th Batch of training of Assessor (ToA) completed for the Job role Assistant Carpenter Level-3, General Assistant-Furniture and Fittings Installation Level-2 from 25th October 2023 to 3rd November 2023. Mode – Hybrid (Online and Trend Exim, Kolkata)


Training of the Master Trainers Session for PM Vishwakarma at Noida and Guwahati

FFSC organized the Master trainer training for PM Vishwakarma trainers was held in NIESBUD, Noida, and Guwahati, Assam. The two-day training programme taught candidates about the transition of carpentry in India, the differences between traditional hand tools and power tools for various carpentry operations, multiple types of power tools and their usage and safety, and much more.

'Skill Orientation' session for employees of Trend Exim and Indinno Technologies under the ‘Skill Conscious Employer’ program

FFSC conducted a 'Skill Orientation' session for its industry members Trend Exim and Indinno Technologies Pvt. Ltd in Kolkata, West Bengal.

More than 40+ employees of these companies participated in the session. The session covered essential topics, including health and safety, the production process, and the use of various tools, while also imparting a deeper understanding of the skill ecosystem and career progression path.


Orientation and Assessment under PMKVY 4.0 Project

Under the PMKVY 4.0 - RPL Type-3 scheme, we have successfully enrolled over 3900+ candidates who are directly employed by employers or their contractual staff out of this 2100+ candidates are certified. This demonstrates the program's effectiveness in reaching and engaging a diverse pool of individuals with pre-existing skills.

Orientation and Assessment under PMKVY 4.0 Project

Under the PMKVY 4.0 - RPL Type-3 scheme, we have successfully enrolled over 3800+ candidates who are directly employed by employers or their contractual staff out of this 2100+ candidates are certified. This demonstrates the program's effectiveness in reaching and engaging a diverse pool of individuals with pre-existing skills.


ODOP scheme of Uttar Pradesh

The ODOP scheme of Uttar Pradesh promotes one unique product or craft from each district, providing financial, technical, and marketing assistance to artisans and entrepreneurs. ODOP Skill Development and Tool Kit Distribution Scheme provides training and tool kits to artisans and workers in the ODOP sector, helping to improve their skills and productivity.

Under this scheme, FFSC has assessed 100 candidates, out of which 86 candidates are certified.


STT Program at Chamba, Himachal Pradesh

FFSC has initiated the Short-term training (STT) program for 60 students at Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, funded by the Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN).

FFSC aims to empower the youth by providing them with skill development training and creating employment opportunities, thereby enhancing their employability.

The training program is under the Assistant Carpenter (NSQF Level 3) job role that spanned 420 hours.

Under the PMKVY 4.0 - RPL Type-3 scheme, we have successfully enrolled over 3700 candidates who are directly employed by employers or their contractual staff out of this 900+ candidates are certified and rest are being certified. This demonstrates the program's effectiveness in reaching and engaging a diverse pool of individuals with pre-existing skills.


Assessment under PMKVY 4.0 STT Project

Under PMKVY 4.0 STT program, FFSC has conducted the assessment of 10 candidates, where HETTICH PODDAR WOODWORKING INSTITUTE has trained these candidates.


Assessment under UPSDM Scheme

Under the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) scheme, we have successfully conducted assessments of 14 candidates in Jaunpur Jail. This process ensures that individuals with newly acquired skills receive formal recognition and certification, ultimately enhancing their employability prospects.

Orientation and Certification under the UGC Scheme

In collaboration with the University Grants Commission (UGC), we have certified 12 candidates from G.S Mandal's Maharashtra Institute of Technology in the Assistant Interior Designer job role. This achievement showcases the program's versatility and its ability to cater to different sectors and institutions.


Assessment under UPSDM Scheme

"PMKVY 4.0 - RPL Type-3" is a skilling initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4. It focuses on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for individuals with prior skills, providing them with formal certification and enhancing their employability in various sectors.

The scheme aims to recognize candidates who are directly employed by the employer or their contractual staff. We have enrolled 700+ candidates in this scheme so far.

The 6th Project and Apprenticeship Sub-Committee Meeting of FFSC was organized via Online Video conferencing on 12th May 2023.

Assessment for UGC Candidates for KTHM College, Nasik

FFSC has done the assessment for the job role of Assistant Project Manager (Interior Design) (FFS/Q0205) in KTHM College, Nasik. They got the training from M.V.P Samaj’s K.T.H.M College, Nasik, under UGC Program.

About the Course:
The Assistant Project Manager is the person who drives a project forward, managing stakeholder engagement and ensuring that the project stays within budget and is completed on time. It's a part-time 15 weeks or full-time 60 hours educational curriculum along with additional eight weeks of practical on-site training with any Professional Architects / Interior Designers / Interior contractors / Civil contractors’ office & site.

Certification Ceremony for NDMC’s Upskilling Programme

Furniture & Fittings Skill Council (FFSC), in collaboration with New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has done the Upskilling Programme in Delhi’s NDMC area. Whare 2200+ candidates have benefitted from this program.

The event was graced by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Mr. Vinai Kumar Saxena. Two of our candidates, Mr. Aanad Kumar Gupta & Mr. Ikrar Ahmad received a certificate by h Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Mr. Vinai Kumar Saxena.

Certification of 910 Carpenters involved in the New Parliament Project

Furniture and Fitting Skill Council (FFSC) working under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) in collaboration with the NDMC jurisdiction and NARSI Group trained and certified 910 carpenters under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) programme. The project is aimed to augment the skill training of carpenters. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a component of Skill India’s flagship scheme Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and is an assessment process used to evaluate a person’s existing skill sets, knowledge and experience gained either by formal, non-formal or informal learning.

FFSC is glad to support the industry-relevant program 'Assistant Project Manager (Interior Design)' run by Vivekanand Education Society's College Of Architecture (VESCOA), Mumbai, in collaboration with ALMTTI and IIA-BMC. As a knowledge partner for the program, FFSC invited Industry experts willing to join as guest lecturers for the program and companies which provided placement support.

About the Course:
The Assistant Project Manager is the person who drives a project forward, managing stakeholder engagement and ensuring that the project stays within budget and is completed on time. It's a part-time 15 weeks or full-time 60 hours educational curriculum along with additional eight weeks of practical on-site training with any Professional Architects / Interior Designers / Interior contractors / Civil contractors’ office & site.

Certificate Distribution:
The certificate distribution for the students was held during the ACETECH exhibition in Mumbai at the Narsi Group’s pavilion.


Certificate Distribution to Jail Inmates in Chennai, Tamil Nādu

FFSC has done the assessment for the Jail inmates in Chennai, Tamil Nādu. They got the training by Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust, Art of Living International Center, Bangalore for the job role Lead Carpenter - Wooden Furniture - (FFS/Q0104).

The program aims to help the prisoners by skilling them to learn woodworking and providing them with a better understanding of furniture & its allied industry and providing skill certificates to get better jobs for themselves after their release.

November 2022

NDMC’s Upskilling Programme

Furniture & Fittings Skill Council (FFSC), in collaboration with New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has started the Upskilling Programme to train and access 3000 carpenters of Delhi in NDMC’s area. 1300+ candidates have benefitted from this program so far. Candidates who are working for ITPO, New Parliament Building, and other projects along with individuals are trained and certified in this program.


Orientation and Assessment under NIPUN’s Project

The project NIPUN, National Initiative for Promoting Upskilling of Nirman workers (NIPUN), is an initiative of the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) under its flagship scheme of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM)

FFSC has initiated the 'Skill Conscious Employer Program' among its industry partners.

The program aims for skill certification of the existing workforce through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) under the Program.

The program helps the existing woodworkers by upskilling them and providing them with a better understanding of furniture & its allied industry. 450+ candidates have benefitted from this program so far.

Certification program for NDMC under the RPL program for skill Empowerment

FFSC partnered with New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to certify the workforce under "Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Program for Skill Empowerment in NDMC Areas"
The program aims to help the existing woodworkers of NDMC areas by upskilling them and providing skill certificates to get better understanding about the furniture & its allied industry. The training program was under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in the Assistant Carpenter job roles that spanned for 12 hours.
FFSC would like to thank its industry partner Narsi Group for facilitating the training at ITPO, New Delhi.

2195+ woodworking professionals trained under Adarsh Gram Skill Camp

The ‘Adarsh Gram Skill Camp’ is FFSC and SANKALP’s unique initiative for skill certification through training and orientation with an added element of skill competitions to elevate aspiration value for the trainees.
FFSC plans to certify 3000 woodworking professionals from 25 Adarsh Grams in 5 States which have been selected under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY).
FFSC would like to thank its Industry Partners Decora Kitchens, Ornare Premium Acrylic Panels, Inter Wood Skilling Partner Visvesvaraya Foundation, Karjee Eduventures Pvt Ltd, and Valuer Fabtex Pvt Ltd for their support in the skill camp.
Training has commenced in Uttar Pradesh for the district of Varanasi.

55 Workshops done on “Prevention of Hazardous Cleaning of Sewers and Septic Tanks” by FFSC funded by National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corporation (NSKFDC), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
The participants were made aware about different provisions of MS Acts and Rules along with the ways of prevention of hazardous cleaning of sewers and septic tanks.
